Junior Volunteers
Become a North Meck Animal Rescue Junior Volunteer! If you are under the age of 18, you can help make a difference in the lives of our shelter dogs!
There are several ways that you can help collect money and donations to help our dogs. Here are a few ideas to get you going. Use your imagination and we are sure that you can come up with more ideas.
Hold a Shelter Donation Drive
5 Credit Hours
This is a great project to do either by yourself or with a group of friends. You can collect items on our wish list that are needed to help take care of animals. The dogs particularly need lots of toys, food and towels. You’ll find the types of items we need on our wish list! Once you have completed your collection, please come to the shelter so we can thank you personally! Please send us an email and we can schedule a time for you to stop by.
Have a Fundraiser
5 Credit Hours
Bake sales, read-a-thons, car washes, dog washes and movie nights are a great way to raise money for our dogs! The money raised will go toward helping these dogs get the proper vet care they need before finding their forever homes!
Have a Movie Night
3 Credit Hours
Invite friends and family to a movie night with an “admission fee” to be donated to NMAR.
Complete our Wishlist Scavenger Hunt
Credit Hours are listed in the Wishlist Scavenger Hunt Document
You are encouraged to collect the items on the wish list from friends, family, and neighbors in order to increase the community’s awareness of North Meck Animal Rescue.
Have an Animal Rescue Party
5 Credit Hours
Have a NMAR party, you can help our dogs by making dog toys, baking dog treats and collecting donations! Here are some party ideas from Talkaboutgiving.com and Birthdaypartyideas4kids.com!
Sponsor a Dog
2 Credit Hours per Dog
Set your fundraising goals to sponsor a dog or two! Because NMAR sticks with a dog until adoption we have many that stay with us for a long time. We want to encourage monthly sponsorship of these dogs, so we can have funds to properly care for them!
Become a Foster Family
3 Credit Hours per Day
While you must be 18 or older to do hands-on volunteering at NMAR, becoming a foster family is fun for all ages!
As a North Meck foster, you provide the comfy place to sleep and all the love you can spare. NMAR covers all of your foster dog’s veterinary expenses, food, medications, and provides any special equipment or supplies. We ask the foster family to treat the foster pet like any other member of the family. Get to know their personality. Any insight you can offer is helpful to NMAR’s placement decision. Together, you and NMAR decide what kind of home will be best for your foster pet. To become a NMAR foster family, please fill out our Foster Application with a parent or guardian!
We are always looking for new ways to help our North Meck dogs, so please share your ideas with us!! Please contact volunteers@northmeckanimalrescue.org if you have any questions. We look forward to working with you!
